Mindful Eating and Kids
Part of living small is eating mindfully. People who pay attention to their food tend to eat less of it.
Yes, the first photo is far too cute, as delighted children prepare themselves to eat their greens under the tender tutelage of wise and loving parents.
Sadly, the second picture is far more realistic. These kids have been placed in front of a TV with buckets of high fat food. You can imagine that the son has already eaten himself into stupor, and the daughter eats directly from the container while mesmerized by the screen, all unaware.
Living small is about noticing everything and attending to it all. It's not about more and more.
