Why Not? The Present Moment, Living Small

We we riding north toward Bangkok from the royal city of Hua Hin. I saw the sunflowers and asked our Thai friends to stop for a photo. After I had thoroughly documented the flowers from every angle, I asked a Thai why they grew the flowers and what they did with them.  He grinned and said in English "Why not?" I'd been around Thai Buddhists long enough to know that I was being gently chided. Instead of simply being in the presence of beauty, I wanted to know its whys and wherefores. The "Why not?" made me focus on flowers again, not their purpose.
